Gainesville Public Relations Professionals Win FPRA Local Image Awards

Five members of the Gainesville Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) were recently presented with Image Awards for excellence in public relations programming and projects. The winners and awards were:

        The Chapter also recognized its 2018-19 Rising Star of the Year, Member of the Year and John S. Detweiler, Ed.D., APR, CPRC Professional of the Year. Each award is given annually to three distinguished members who go above and beyond to promote the chapter and the public relations profession in the Gainesville community. The honorees were:

Rising Star of the Year: Amy Azoulay (Director of Communications, United Way of North Central Florida).
Member of the Year: Sarah Coulson (Marketing Program Manager, CPAmerica International).
John S. Detweiler, Ed.D., APR, CPRC, Professional of the Year Award: Kevin Coulson, APR, CPRC (Digital Communications Strategist, UF College of Education)

The Gainesville Chapter meets the third Thursday of each month for lunch at the Sweetwater Branch Inn.

        The Florida Public Relations Association is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida. The organization’s 15 professional and 12 student chapters provide professional development, networking and recognition opportunities for nearly 1,500 members across the state. FPRA is the nation’s oldest public relations organization, established by Lt. Col. John Dillin, APR, CPRC in 1938.
