Whole Foods Market’s Gainesville Store to Open May 9

Whole Foods Market’s Gainesville store, the first location for the natural and organic grocery store in north central Florida, is set to open Wednesday, May 9.

“We have created this location specifically for the lifestyle of the Gainesville community,” said Juan Nunez, President of Whole Foods Market’s Florida region. “We know our new customers will love the convenient dining, easy shopping and comfortable surroundings we’ve designed just for them.”

The 40,000 square foot store will offer a selection of grab-and-go prepared foods, grocery items and unique venues including:

  • Self-Service Counter featuring hot and iced coffee, tea and espresso, cold pressed juice and natural sodas on tap
  • Create-your-own Acai Bowls
  • Made-in-house sushi, pizza, sandwiches and more
  • Amazon Lockers for convenient package pick up and returns

Every item sold in the store is free of artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives and hydrogenated fats.

Whole Foods Market Gainesville is located in Butler Town Center at 3490 SW Archer Road in Gainesville and will employ approximately 140 full and part time locally-hired team members. The store’s regular hours of operation will be 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., daily.
