Yogurtology, the second business to sign on with the new Shoppes at Butler Plaza construction, was the first to open on July 15.
Located at 3730 SW Archer Rd., the new branch store is the eighth in Florida, accompanying several in Arizona.
According to co-owner Jordan Levy, Gainesville was attractive because of its large student body and because one of the owners attended the University of Florida and loves the area.
Competition includes a Mochi Frozen Yogurt and a Cold Stone Creamery within half a mile of the new store, but according to Levy, Yogurtology is set apart by its selection (Premiyum flavors, Bottomings (toppings, but for the bottom of your cup), Sloppings (syrups like caramel and marshmallow sauce)) and attention to customer service.
According to a press release, Yogurtology offers more than 100 flavors and 12 to 14 which rotate each week. Premiyum flavors include No Chip Cookie Dough, Iced Lemon Pound Cake and Caramel Yogurtccino.
Yogurtology is open from 11am to 10pm Monday through Thursday, and 11am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday. A grand opening will be held in late August.
