UF Health Shands names Duval to leadership team

Kathy Duval, M.B.A., M.S., ACHE, has been named associate vice president for Operations at UF Health Shands.

In her new role, Duval will have executive responsibility for Bronchoscopy, Cardiopulmonary, Endoscopy, Infection Control, Neurodiagnostics, Radiology and Trauma services.

Duval most recently served as associate administrator with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Sarasota. She has had oversight of more than 300 employees, $485 million in gross revenues and a long list of programmatic accomplishments.

Earlier in her career, she spent 20 years with Centura Health in Denver, Colorado, starting as director of the orthopaedics and neuro service lines and then serving as director of rehabilitation. She was then administrative director of clinical operations for Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

UF Health Shands leaders cited Duval’s strategic insights and operational achievements as key reasons for her hire, adding that she has demonstrated successful collaboration and integration with hospital clinical and administrative colleagues and physicians, developing strong associations for the best patient outcomes.
