UF Health opens new pediatric surgery facility, relocates services

UF Health celebrated the opening of a new pediatric surgery building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and building tours in April. The new UF Health Children’s Surgical Center occupies 17,500 square feet and is equipped with four large operating rooms, as well as separate pre-op, post-anesthesia care and post-op recovery areas. It opened for patient care April 29.

Procedures for pediatric patients offered at the new location include dental surgery, ear/nose/throat surgery, eye surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, general surgery, hematologic/oncologic surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery and urologic surgery. Surgical procedures performed in leased space at the Ayers Building are being relocated to the new building.
