Residents of northwest Gainesville, Alachua County and surrounding areas now have an emergency department to call their own. UF Health Shands Emergency Center – Springhill, located at 8491 NW 39th Ave. is scheduled to open in early August.
UF Health Shands Emergency Center – Springhill is an 8,500 square-foot building that will be staffed entirely by board-certified University of Florida emergency medicine physicians and UF Health nurses specially trained in emergency medicine.
The emergency center is equipped with 10 treatment spaces for patients, an onsite lab and diagnostic radiology services including X-ray and CT imaging systems. A permanently stationed ShandsCair ambulance will transfer patients requiring hospitalization.
