TutoringZone, a local college tutoring service, has announced that it will be expanding operations at the University of Florida and Florida State University to include five additional campuses in 2012. A significant infusion of funding from several members of the local Gainesville business community will allow TutoringZone to accelerate plans to open offices at the University of Texas, Michigan State, the University of Indiana, the University of Central Florida and Arizona State, according to CEO and owner Matt Hintze.
TutoringZone will also begin offering pre-college tutoring for Advanced Placement classes at a number of high schools across the country. “We are already a company that students know and trust. We’ve been on the UF campus for 11 years and have tutored more than 120,000 Gators,” Hintze says. “So we wanted to extend our brand into the high schools to help students even sooner and create a stronger relationship with our customers.”
John Spence, a Gainesville author, business consultant and corporate trainer, is one of the investors. “This is an incredibly strong company with an amazing team of tutors,” Spence says. “We were particularly impressed with their dedication to student success and the high level of loyalty they are able to create with the students they tutor.
It is clear that when we bring that level of passion and expertise to other campuses, the new offices will be as successful as TutoringZone’s locations at UF and at FSU.”
