Treat Yourself for Charity

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Dairy Queen are teaming up to raise funds for hospitalized children by hosting Miracle Treat Day, when five local Dairy Queens will donate a part of the proceeds from each Blizzard Treat sold to UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. Last year, Dairy Queen franchises across North Central Florida raised more than $6,126.

At Dairy Queen’s Archer Road location, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals will host an event-filled afternoon with appearances by Miss Florida Gator, Emily Bowie, Children’s Miracle Network ambassadors and former patients of UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital Hyla Marlin, 11, and Tyler Pence, 8.

Miracle Treat Day launched in 2006 as part of the 22-year partnership between Dairy Queen and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

This year’s event will take place on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 3 to 5pm at five Dairy Queen locations:

3960 SW Archer Road, Suite B, Gainesville, Fla.

9700 NW 39th Ave., Gainesville, Fla.

316 Mexican Drive, Cross City, Fla.

2590 W. Old U.S. Highway 441, Mount Dora, Fla.

817 S. Ohio Ave., Live Oak, Fla
