TAO Connect, a digital health company aiming to make behavioral health therapy more accessible, efficient, and effective, has announced its partnership with Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, a not-for-profit organization providing behavioral health education and treatment in North Central Florida. This alliance allows Meridian’s clients to use TAO Connect’s suite of online-based health tools and self-help features in tandem with their in-person therapy visits.
Meridian’s clients will have access to TAO Connect’s eight online-based courses to help them deal with anxiety, depression, addiction and more. The digital health company’s suite also includes interactive tools like The Mind Elevator, a machine learning technology using a proprietary algorithm to help users alter negative thinking habits.
TAO Connect supplements in-person therapy sessions by utilizing a method called low intensity-high engagement therapy. This process functions through online and mobile educational modules and practice tools with short phone conversations or video conferences with a therapist. More than 100 studies in 20 countries have shown this method to be as effective as hour-long, in-person individual therapy for common disorders.
Meridian helps more than 20,000 people annually throughout North Central Florida. Meridian’s mission is to promote the health, recovery, and well-being of those affected by mental illness and substance use disorders through prevention, coordinated treatment, and supportive services.
TAO Connect is also available through subscription plan and is being used at more than 75 universities in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean.
