Student Maid’s Kristen Hadeed to Host Business of the Year 2013

The 2010 and 2011 winner of the Leading Women’s Enterprise at the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year Awards is back, but this time to lead the show.

Kristen Hadeed, founder of Gainesville-based Student Maid and a national professional speaker with an agency called CAMPUSPEAK, will host the 2013 Business of the Year Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Best Western PLUS Gateway Grand.

This signature event presented by the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates “Innovation that Inspires” by challenging local applicants to think differently about their contributions to their industry or community. Applicants are asked to showcase their companies continued drive to lead their respective industries and help to build a strong innovation economy.

“I am honored to host an event that celebrates the success around us. So many businesses in our community are innovating more than ever and, as a result, are growing by leaps and bounds,” Hadeed said. “I’m so humbled to have been given this opportunity, and I hope everyone will join me in celebrating the companies who are putting Gainesville in the fast lane. It will definitely be an exciting day!”

“Kristen embodies exactly the type of talent we aim to replicate and showcase to the world,” said Tim Giuliani, President & CEO of the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Her talent and passion is exactly what the iG movement has captured and inspired this community to be – a global hub for innovation, talent and opportunity for everyone.”

Hadeed, who founded one of Florida’s largest independently owned cleaning services between football games and finals during her undergraduate career, embodies the spirit of the awards. Her company, Student Maid, uses a workforce of student employees with minimum 3.5 GPA’s to provide trustworthy, high-quality, cost effective home cleaning services and is expanding rapidly across the country from its innovative business model.

Earlier this year, Kadeed and her team launched a business event division of the company called FreshSpark and held its first major speaker series called reThink: Success. In May, Hadeed expanded Student Maid to Pensacola, Fla. Her entrepreneurial spirit in the quest for innovation has been an inspiration locally and is beginning to represent Gainesville nationally.
