Share Stories of Success at the Business of the Year Awards

With forty-two businesses in the running for the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year awards, winners will be announced next week at the annual luncheon. On Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., businesses will share their stories of success at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center while also being recognized for their outstanding achievements within the past year.

This year, companies had the opportunity to submit multiple applications for different categories and are automatically entered to take home the title of Best Small or Large Overall Business. The Chamber has also created a new category, Best Customer Service, where members from the community determine which of the finalists provided the best customer service to their customers, presented by our feature sponsor, the Business Report of North Central Florida.

In order for companies to be considered as finalists, they must have submitted an application or multiple applications if they entered more than one category, with information regarding their company’s achievements as well as their impact on the community. While some companies chose to submit promotional videos as supplemental material along with their application, other businesses chose to turn in magazines and news articles.

Growing up, we remember camping as huddling around a campfire with close friends to share stories and create memories.  Those who will be attending this year’s luncheon can expect a warm campfire theme where stories of success will be shared with colleagues and businesses from around the community. In addition, prepare to escape the cold while enjoying the ambience of glowing lanterns and autumn leaves.

Reservations for this year’s Business of the Year awards is required. The cost to attend is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. Reserve your seat today as space is limited. Visit www.gainesvillechamber.com/Business-of-the-Year or call 352.334.7100 to learn more.
