Innovative medical software firm also adds new president and CEO with strong track record.
RegisterPatient.com of Gainesville announced Tuesday that it’s raised $4.1 million and appointed a new president and CEO.
Registered nurse David Williams founded RegisterPatient in 2006 to develop software that helps physicians schedule medical appointments and communicate better with patients.
Harbert Venture Partners III and the Florida Opportunity Fund provided the new funding, which brings investment in the company to $5.1 million.
Jana Skewes, the new president and CEO, has more than 26 years of experience in health care. She comes to RegisterPatient from Shared Health, a software company she founded that helps medical providers with reimbursements.
She was part of a collaborative team that built one of the largest health information exchanges nationally.
“RegisterPatient offers state-of-the-art cloud-based tools that allow physicians to truly engage with their patients,” says Bob Crutchfield, Harbert’s venture partner.
“We believe the company’s offerings, combined with strong partnerships and growing leadership team, position it well to meet the increasing needs of physicians, hospitals and health systems.”
In addition to the new funding, RegisterPatient received a $320,000 Healthcare Biomanufacturing Occupational and Technology Training (HBOTT) grant awarded through FloridaWorks.
