Players Wanted for the 2019 GAP Charity Golf Scramble

Calling all golfers! The Gainesville Arts & Parks Foundation (GAP) is looking for people who love the links and want to help local youth succeed. GAP is holding its third annual Charity Golf Scramble Friday, March 8, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Ironwood Golf Course (2100 NE 39th Ave.). The lunch is provided by Mi Apá Latin Café and dinner is provided by Adam’s Rib Co. Beverages are being provided by Pepsi and Burkhardt Sales and Service. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy the best Audubon International certified golf course in north central Florida.

All proceeds from the scramble go to youth scholarships for summer camp in the City. Proceeds from the 2016 -2018 golf tournaments allowed Gainesville youth to receive 748 weeks of free summer camp through scholarships in 2018! Help us increase that number. Campers learn computer usage, financial management, job skills and explore science through partnerships with local organizations including the Alachua Sheriff’s Office, Gainesville Police Department, University of Florida, local banks, schools and businesses.

Player registration is $75 for an individual and $275 for a foursome.  Registration fees include green fee, cart fee, range balls, golfer lunch and the awards dinner following the tournament. There are also several opportunities for great prizes donated by our many generous sponsors. Best of all, players are helping local youth by providing opportunities for fun and success.

The GAP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that serves as an ally in fundraising and advocacy for the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department.
