  • Gainesville Interior Designer Lori Evans, co-owner of Evans Construction and Design, won awards in the Bath and Renovation categories from the American Society of Interior Designers in the 2014 Annual ASID Design Competition.
  • Jeannie Cimiotti, Ph.D., R.N., has been named the University of Florida College of Nursing Dorothy M.
    Smith endowed chair and the co-director of the Florida Blue Center for Health
    Care Access, Patient Safety and Quality Outcomes at UF.
  • C. Parker Gibbs  Jr., M.D., has been appointed deputy director of medical affairs for the UF Health Cancer Center. Gibbs also serves as the Eugene L. Jewett professor of orthopaedic surgery and chief of the University of Florida College of Medicine division of musculoskeletal oncology.
  • McGriff -Williams Insurance was recognized as the 2014 Best Agency to Work for by Insurance Journal Magazine. The team environment at McGriff – Williams is built on the friendship of agency partners, Lee McGriff and Mack Williams.
  • The University of Florida Levin College of Law had a 90.6 % Florida Bar Examination passage rate for the July 2014 exam. Also, UF Law is ranked 13th “Best Value Law School” in the US.
  • The University of Florida Health Center for Movement Disorders and Neurorestoration has been designated a Tourette Syndrome Association Center of Excellence; and, it is only one of 10 centers in the United States to receive the designation.
  • Don Gorenberg, SCORE Chairman: Attorney, UF grad, 30 years owning and operating multi-unit retail businesses. Retired back to Gainesville from Fort Lauderdale as one of the “Top 10 Retailers of American Craft in the USA” (Niche Magazine)
  • UF Health Shands Trauma Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary as a provisional Level 1 trauma center. specialists. The trauma center is also home to a regional burn center, and depends heavily on key partnerships with UF Health ShandsCair.
  • The University of Florida announced the formation of the UF Diabetes Institute,
    a collaboration of dozens of researchers campus wide, all focused on forging
    advances in treatment for a disease that afflicts an estimated 29.1 million Americans
    and 1 in 10 Floridians.
  • Jim Succop, SCORE Treasurer: UF grad, MBA; 12 years Senior Accountant, Mid-Florida Area Agency on Aging Former M Division Officer, USS Tattnall, DDG 19
  • Perry Roofing Contractors has been awarded the status of Master Select Roofing Contractor for GAF Materials Corporation for installation excellence and continuing education. Only 1% of roofing contractors nationwide are honored with this recognition.
  • Jean Outler, SCORE Secretary: Retired Human Resource executive with in multi-hospital system and computer design/manufacturing experience. Jean is a UF grad, and grew up in Gainesville.
  • Dean, Mead & Bovay announces the addition of Star Sansone, an associate in the
    Estate Planning and Taxation Departments. She focuses on business planning and
    transactions and also represents individuals in estate planning and wealth protection.
