On the Move

The Fisher School of Accounting at the Warrington College of Business Administration dedicated the atrium of Gerson Hall, the home of the Fisher School, to longtime accounting professor Dr. Irvin N. Gleim. Gleim was an innovative force in the field of accounting and published training manuals for budding accountants that became the field’s authoritative learning tool for accounting students. He is a member of multiple accounting organizations.

Arthur Donovan, D.V.M., a professor of large animal clinical sciences at UF’s College of Veterinary Medicine, is UF’s recipient of the Zoetiz Animal Health Distinguished Teaching Award. The award recognizes outstanding teachers who contribute significantly to the advancement of the veterinary medical education through ability, dedication, character and leadership. Donovan, whose specialty is food animal medicine, will now be UF’s nominee for a national-level award.

Karen Koegel has been named the new president of the Gainesville Fine Arts Association. Koegel is a UF graduate and creator of Organizers Unlimited, a consulting and hands-on business designed for helping businesses become more efficient through control of their information, for which she was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Koegel’s vision as president is to grow the organization in numbers, purpose, community awareness and synergy with local art organizations.
