North Florida Regional Medical Center recently held a topping-out ceremony for its latest expansion project.
The event marks the phase in construction at which the highest part of the structure has been put in place.
The $62 million project is adding a four-story patient tower, which increases the hospital’s capacity by 92 beds. The expansion includes new cardiovascular care space, a Level II neonatal intensive care unit and additional patient beds for neurosurgery care.
The 100,000-square-foot expansion is being built in front of the hospital along Newberry Road. Completion is scheduled for late next year.
