Local food-testing lab approved by General Mills

A local research lab has received national recognition with General Mills’ stamp of approval.

Food testing and consulting facility ABC Research Laboratory, located at 3437 SW 24th Ave., announced its acceptance in early July as an approved testing site for the food-producer giant.

That means it “will be noted as a preferred testing laboratory for any of the multiple vendors that provide ingredients for General Mill’s 89 individual brands,” according to a news release.

“After the rigorous application process with General Mills, we are honored to have those practices recognized as we continue to improve our services to our clients,” said Gillian Dagan, ABC research chief scientific officer, in a statement.

The lab is touted as one of the largest food testing labs in the country and provides services such as nutritional labeling, FDA detention resolution and appliance benchmark testing.
