Local business makes a party out of pedaling

Cycle pubs have been popping up across the country and Gainesville is no exception. The Spins cycle pub entered the scene after co-founders Erica Husak and Dave Godec were inspired by seeing a cycle pub while visiting downtown Nashville. “To see the happiness and joy on the riders faces was priceless. We decided that we wanted to bring that experience to the Gainesville community,” said Husak. Both transplants from New Mexico, Husak and Godec went for a logo inspired by traditional Day of the Dead skulls. Adding bicycle wheel imagery and a beer hop flower gave a bit more personality to their branding.

The Spins cycle pub was manufactured by “Cycle Pub” in Bend, Oregon by engineers who previously manufactured Cessna planes! There are ten pedaling seats on the bike, five non-pedaling seats and room for one “biketender”.  While tours on The Spins are fun-filled and provide a unique opportunity to experience Gainesville, riders must be prepared to pedal as they are the driving force of the tour. (So yes, there is some work involved but the reward is very worth it!)

The cycle pub can be booked for an array of events — any celebration (birthdays, graduations, bachelor parties), game day shenanigans, team building functions, office parties, and girls or boys nights out. In addition, Husak and Godec will soon be adding a guided history tour, a progressive dinner, and more family friendly options. Typical tours run for two hours, but there is an option to extend.
