LifeSouth New Donor Center Now Open in Jonesville

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers has opened a new donor center in Jonesville and invites the community to come by and donate blood.

LifeSouth, the local blood center serving UF Health, North Florida Regional Medical Center and Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, welcomes donors to the new center in the Steeplechase shopping center, 14266 W. Newberry Rd., during the following hours:  Tuesday 10 a.m to 7 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Friday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 am. To 2 p.m.

“We are excited to open our new donor center, and offer donors a new and convenient place to give blood.” said Lorrie Woods, LifeSouth District Director. “It is an honor to serve the patients and donors in Alachua County. Blood collected from our blood donors stays here to help local patients.”

Donors are welcome to walk-in and give or visit lifesouth.org or call 1-800-795-2707 to schedule an appointment to donate. Donors of all types are always needed.

All blood donors who donate in a LifeSouth donor center receive a $10 e-gift card and wellness screen.

Donors must be at least 17 or 16 with parental permission, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health. A photo ID is needed.

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood center serving hospitals in Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
