We are encouraging East Gainesville/Alachua County residents to attend the meeting and hear plans for development for Eastern Gainesville/Alachua County. Both the City and County Commissioners would like to hear your thoughts about development plans including relocating the Fairgrounds to Newberry and what are the current plans for the Fairgrounds and its impact on the Plan East Gainesville Plan? The County’s decision to partner with the owners of Celebration Pointe to locate the proposed Event Center in Celebration Pointe. The City of Gainesville’s plan to build and smaller event center at Waldo Road & 8th Avenue and other development plans. And finally, how long will it take to implement these plans and how will they be funded?
