Innovation Hub’s Spokes Filling In

The Florida Innovation Hub at UF is up and running. The 45,000-square-foot, $13.2 million building on the former site of Shands at AGH launched with 12 resident companies and has plenty of room for more. The building, the first structure in the planned Innovation Square, also is home of the University of Florida’s Office of Technology Licensing and UF Tech Connect.

The Hub’s three-story lobby features an illuminated work of art depicting technology.

Daniel Sosa and Zhengb Shi of Ocoos, a company that is creating an Internet marketplace, say they benefit from contact with other Hub tenants. Sosa holds a UF master’s in entrepreneurship and Shi has a UF master’s in computer engineering.

Jennifer Jensen of Robrady, a Sarasota-based firm that helps businesses design and produce new products, works in the company’s office.
