Haven Hospice Attic Resale Store Opens Furniture Annex in Gainesville

Haven Hospice’s Gainesville Attic Resale Store has opened a furniture Annex.

The addition to the existing resale store, which is located at 300 NW 8th Avenue, gives shoppers an opportunity to purchase scratch and dent furniture at deeply discounted prices. The Annex is located behind the Attic Resale Store and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The Haven Annex was created from the idea that although furniture items may need repair, reupholstering, refinishing or refinement – they still have value to many of our community members who enjoy working on projects, repurposing items, or are looking for a more economical way to furnish rentals or college dorms,” said Haven Attic Volunteer Services Manager Clay Dzioba. “The Haven Annex also assists us in accomplishing our goal of less waste by offering these items at much lower costs, helping us to be good stewards to not only our donors, but also our community and our planet.”

According to Dzioba, Haven’s Attic Stores strive to place only like-new or lightly used furniture on its regular sales floor. The Annex provides an opportunity for shoppers to look for project pieces, parts or repurposing items. He encourages anyone in Gainesville and the surrounding area to visit the Annex, adding, “We may, at any given time, have chairs, tables, consoles, hutches, dressers, bed frames and any other furniture item you can name.”

Sales generated at Haven’s five Attic Resale Stores and the Annex financially support Haven patients and families, as well as many other people in the community served by Haven’s programs and services. Attic Resale Store proceeds help fund unfunded patient care; no patient will ever be turned away from hospice care at Haven due to financial reasons.

The Attic Resale Stores depend on the generous support from donors, volunteers and shoppers. More information can be found here: https://beyourhaven.org/attic
