Air Transport World has named Silver Airways Corp. the 2013 Regional Airline of the Year.
The magazine based the honor on Silver’s outstanding growth and achievements, as well as its contributions toward elevating the overall regional aviation industry.
Silver Airways is the first U.S.-based airline to win the Regional Airline of the Year award since 2008.
Silver is based in Fort Lauderdale, and it has moved its maintenance center to Gainesville. It also offers flights from here.
Silver Chairman Matthew Ray praised the company’s team members for the award.
“ATW awards represent the pinnacle of achievement in aviation,” he said. “Aside from the continued support and appreciation of our passengers, there is no higher honor.”
