Gainesville Delegation of Leaders Travels to Silicon Valley

Fourteen Greater Gainesville leaders in business, education, government and economic development recently traveled to Silicon Valley to educate site selectors, business decision makers and venture capitalists on the opportunities available in Greater Gainesville. This year, in addition to our assets–which include a preeminent state university, the Nation’s No. 1 community college and the state’s most educated workforce and low business and living costs–we have the advantage of offering companies all of the  possibilities associated with the kind of public/private partnerships that spur business growth and innovation for companies, and major job creation for regions. Silicon Valley’s high business and living costs make now a prime time to aggressively pursue opportunities to bring tech companies and jobs to Gainesville.

While in Silicon Valley, the delegation visited with 12 corporations and six venture capitalists; and also made seven best-practices visits and went on two infrastructure tours. Delegates report creating strong, serious leads during the visits. The Chamber will update you as outcomes materialize from this and other marketing delegation trips.
