Following 15 months of research and development including input from local businesses and job seekers, CareerSource North Central Florida, formerly FloridaWorks, announces the official launch of its new brand name to better align Florida’s nationally recognized workforce system and improve customer awareness and use of services.

CareerSource North Central Florida is a leader in the CareerSource Florida network serving Alachua and Bradford counties. Across the state today, all 24 regional workforce organizations, the nearly 100 career centers they direct, along with the state workforce board, are now operating with their new brand names and logos.

“We will continue to deliver award-winning collaboration and partnership that grows our economy by developing a world-class workforce for our region’s employers,” said CareerSource NCFL Executive Director Kim Tesch-Vaught. “The FloridaWorks tradition will continue as CareerSource North Central Florida.”

Florida is the first state to unify its workforce system brand among all of its workforce boards — state and local — and career centers. The rebranding effort was initiated to provide greater clarity and consistency for job seekers and employers in need of employment, training, career advancement, recruiting, hiring and other talent development and placement services.

At Monday’s statewide launch event in Miami, workforce, business and community leaders applauded the national branding achievement. This milestone is being marked by a series of special public events throughout Florida this month to drive greater awareness of job search and career development services and highlight ongoing efforts — by a dedicated professional team — to connect job seekers and employers.

“Moving to a single, distinctive identity takes our workforce development network to the next level, clearly communicating to our business and job-seeking customers that we have the professional resources to support their success, wherever they are in Florida,” said CareerSource Florida President/CEO Chris Hart IV. CareerSource Florida is the new name for both the statewide network and the state board, formerly known as Workforce Florida Inc.

The unified brand is the result of comprehensive market research and a collaborative process involving more than 1,500 stakeholders statewide including job seekers and businesses. The brand was developed in response to the Regional Workforce Boards Accountability Act of 2012, which was passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Rick Scott.
