First Class Service Offered from Gainesville Regional Airport on Delta Airlines

First class services is now an option for travelers flying out of Gainesville Regional Airport, (GNV). The option comes as Delta Airlines increases it’s capacity on one daily flight.

Starting this week, Delta Airlines has upgraded one of their seven flights to a larger aircraft. Flight number 5430, departing daily for Atlanta at 5:30 pm, will now be a CRJ 700. The regional jet seats six first class passengers and a total of 65 passengers. The other Delta jets servicing GNV, CRJ 200s, seat 50 passengers without first class seats.

“First class is popular with our frequent business travelers,” says airport CEO Allan Penksa. “They have requested this service and we’re glad to see the additional capacity of extra seats offered by Delta.”

Delta has said it will be phasing out the 50-seat regional jets from its fleet as it negotiates the purchase of more fuel-efficient aircraft. It is not clear if or when any of GNV’s other Delta flights will change.
