City Taking Bids for Dining Spaces in Depot

The City of Gainesville is taking bids for its restaurant and cafe spaces in the newly restored historic depot building in Depot Park near downtown.

The city is renovating the depot, and it is setting aside room for a cafe in the eastern part of the building and for a restaurant part of the building. Bidders can use one or both of the spaces.

The cafe space is 2,200 square feet, and it is air conditioned. It features heartwood pine flooring, tongue and groove wainscot paneling, a restored pine ceiling and a bay window overlooking Depot Park.

The restaurant space includes 1,000 square feet inside, which is cooled by fans, and a 1,000-square-foot covered neck. The space features a wood and steel railing around the platform and rolling barn doors.

Bids must be submitted by 3 p.m. Oct. 10. For more information call the city’s Purchasing Division at (352) 334-5021.
