Site clearing and construction has commenced on an approximately 42,000 square foot FedEx distribution facility at the City of Gainesville’s Airport Industrial Park.
The project involves a $9 million capital investment and will replace a similar facility in north central Gainesville. It is anticipated that the project will lead to the creation of 80+ total jobs, including 20+ new jobs. The building is expected to be open for business in summer 2020.
The project, a collaboration between the City of Gainesville, the Gainesville Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA) and private industry, will bring economic and business development to east Gainesville and will enhance prospects for commercial activity within the Gainesville metropolitan area.
