City announces workshops to discuss updated land development codes

 

The City of Gainesville Planning Department is holding a series of neighborhood workshops to discuss proposed land use and zoning changes for properties within the City of Gainesville. Planning staff has started the process of mailing out more than 10,000 notices to property owners and affected parties.

The City of Gainesville is in the process of updating the Land Development Code and these proposed land use and zoning changes are in conjunction with this effort. The purpose of the workshops is to inform the public of the nature of the changes and to seek comments, and answer questions about the proposal. All workshops will take place at 6 p.m. on the dates listed below in the GRU Multi-Purpose Room, which is located at 301 SE Fourth Ave.

Feb. 18, 6 p.m. – T-6: Urban Core

Feb. 25, 6 p.m. – T-5: Urban Mixed-Use high intensity

March 5, 6 p.m. – T-4 R: Urban residential low density

March 11, 6 p.m. – T-3: Single-family residential

March 19, 6 p.m. – T-4 T: Residential Mixed-Use Transition

March 26, 6 p.m. – T-4 M: Urban Mixed-Use
