Butler Town Center, located on Archer Road, is bringing an entirely new entertainment and dining experience to the greater Gainesville market. Today Deborah Butler, president of Butler Enterprises, announced the redevelopment of the 14-screen Regal Cinema, which first opened in this location in April 1990.
“We’re very gratified by Regal Cinema’s continued investment and confidence in our vision for Butler Town Center,” stated Deborah Butler. “Long a student, family and date-night favorite, Regal Cinema’s redevelopment makes it a perfect fit for the upmarket look we’re creating at Butler Town Center.”
Regal, which will remain in the same location on Windmeadows Blvd., has already begun construction on their modernization, and will remain open throughout construction with only two theatres impacted at a time. A re-grand opening is planned for late June of this year, kicking off the summer blockbuster season.

Guests at Regal Cinemas at Butler Town Center will enjoy posh, comfortable surroundings with luxurious King Size recliners that are able to adjust to multiple positions and include padded footrests. In addition to upgraded amenities, Regal will have a façade facelift with beautified landscaping, and will carry the upgraded look into the interior of the auditoriums with new lighting, flooring, drapery and more.
“The final product produced by Regal Cinema will be a significant change for moviegoers and enhances the scope of opportunities customers will enjoy at Butler Town Center,” stated Deborah Butler. “Combined with the project with Whole Foods, our recently announced P.F. Chang’s, our upcoming announcement on the Residences at Butler and several other significant deals that are currently in process, Butler Town Center is well underway.”
