Buchholz students rank high at business leadership conference

Students from Buchholz High School’s Future Business Leaders of America program brought home multiple awards from the organization’s recent state conference. Six members were awarded first place in their competition category and 14 now qualify for the upcoming national competition.

Buccholz was represented by 52 students out of 3,500 in attendance at the Orlando competition. Competitive events included Business Ethics, Job Interview, Agribusiness, Introduction to Information Technology and Accounting. The top three in each event have earned a spot in the national competition in Nashville, Tenn., from June 29 to July 2.

Robin Xu and Stephen Dolbier – First place in Business Ethics

Taylor Warring – First place in Business Law

Emily Lerner – First place in Agribusiness

Salvador Robles-Luciano and Matthew Schrold – Second place in Banking & Financial Systems

Ben Wu – Second place in Business Calculations

Kim Nguyen – Second place in Accounting I

Ellen Li – Second place in Business Math

Kevin Huang – Third place in Accounting II

Reva Ranka – Third place in Insurance & Risk Management

Kate Douberly – Third place in Job Interview

Soomin Cho – Fourth place in Business Communications

Ronnie Smith – Fourth place in Introduction to Business

Bridget Foster – Fourth place in Public Speaking I

Rachael Wynkoop – Fifth place in Accounting I

Joshua Song – Fifth place in Business Math

Christina Bailey – Fifth place in Computer Applications
