AvMed tops the J.D. Power Health Plan Study for 4th Consecutive Year
For a fourth consecutive year, a study released by J.D. Power ranks AvMed “highest in member satisfaction” in Florida.
The 2015 study surveyed more than 31,500 members representing 134 health plans throughout the United States. In the Florida region, AvMed achieves the highest overall satisfaction score and performs particularly well in all six of the study factors: information and communication; cost; provider choice; claims processing; coverage and benefits; and customer service.

The Gainesville based not-for-profit health plan has recently invested more than $100M in solidifying a truly differentiating experience for its 300,000 Florida Members, leveraging the strength of physician relationships developed over 45 years of in-person, face-to-face interactions with AvMed Leadership.
“We have really ‘rolled out the yellow carpet’ for our Members, so they’re no longer surprised by the levels of service we deliver,” said Michael P. Doug Close, employee benefits specialist with Gainesville based Scarborough Insurance agrees that AvMed is a customer service leader, stating “What separates AvMed from the other health carriers is hands on local service and sales reps. Although price is always a consideration to clients, so is customer service, and that is where AvMed excels. If there is a problem with billing or a claim, AvMed is easy to reach without long periods of time on hold.”
Close has experienced the high level of service internally for Scarborough Insurance as well as for their health insurance clients. “Groups that insure with AvMed find that out, and once they experience that service, they rarely leave AvMed. We are on our 7th year with AvMed, and when our renewal comes up, most of the employees in our office like to ask me if we are going to stay with AvMed.
