The Alachua County Environmental Protection Advisory Committee (EPAC) is hosting a community conversation on Climate Change in Alachua County. The discussion will focus on helping the community understand how climate change impacts our food, water, and air and what we as citizens can do to protect them. The discussion is scheduled for Friday, November 13, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and will be held virtually as a webinar; available through Zoom (Meeting ID: 928 4398 8579 Passcode: 382725) or dial in at 929-205-6099 (Meeting ID: 928 4398 8579) and Facebook. The panelists for this discussion include Olivia Collins (The CLEO Institute – Miami), Dr. Marc Kramer (Associate Professor, School of the Environment, Washington State University – Vancouver), and Dr. Clyde Fraisse (UF/IFAS Agricultural and Biological Engineering). It will be moderated by Bob Tancig with the Climate Reality Project. The event is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
Panelists will summarize their thoughts on the subject and address questions about climate change issues and solutions.
EPAC provides an opportunity for citizen involvement on environmental issues and concerns affecting residents of the County. It advises the Board of County Commissioners on appropriate measures to safeguard air and water resources and responsible management of public lands and resources.
