2017 Strike Out Hunger Week

The 2017 Strike Out Hunger Week Events will be held November 13-16, 2017 at the Alachua County Fairgrounds. We encourage individuals, businesses, civic, government and faith organizations, to join us in reaching our goal of collecting 150,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to be distributed to food banks and pantries for needy families in Alachua County.

2017 Strike Out Hunger Week Schedule of Events — Alachua County Fairgrounds:

Monday, November 13th, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Community Food Drive – 
Collections Drop Off at the Alachua County Fairgrounds, 3100 NE 39th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida (volunteers are needed).

Tuesday, November 14th, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sorting of donated foods 
from community food drives for food banks and pantries (volunteers are needed).  

Wednesday, November 15th, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Representative Clovis 
Watson, Jr. and Farm Share Free Food Giveaway. No registration or referrals needed (volunteers needed).

Wednesday, November 15th, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Distribution of collected 
food items to food banks and pantries (volunteers are needed).

Wednesday, November 15th, 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Preparation of 
Thanksgiving Baskets for distribution to needy families in Alachua County.
For a basket referral, call 352-371-4566 November 10th, 10 am – 2 pm.  

Thursday, November 16th, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Thanksgiving Basket 
Giveaway. Voucher’s will be given out on Thursday, October 5th, 12:00 noon – 6:00 p.m. at the MLK Multipurpose Center, 1028 NE 14th Street, Gainesville, Florida, to Alachua County Residents that have state issued picture I.D’s.
Your address must match the one given on your I.D.
