16th Annual UF Health Gainesville Senior Games registration now open

The Gainesville Sports Commission is announcing the opening of the 16th Annual UF Health Gainesville Senior Games registration. The Gainesville Sports Commission in partnership with UF Health welcomes all participants from around the state of Florida who are 50 years of age or older to Alachua County. Here, the participants have the opportunity to compete in 11 different Olympic style sporting events such as Archery, Basketball, Bowling, Cycling, Golf, Pickleball, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Track & Field. All participants will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag while the top athletes in each age division can win gold, silver or bronze medals in their respective events. The 16th Annual UF Health Gainesville Senior Games are sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation and serve as a qualifier for the State Senior Games being held in Clearwater from December 3-11, 2016.

For the past 15 years, hundreds of athletes have traveled to Gainesville in the spirit of friendly competition. The Senior Games promote fun, healthy activity with the Gainesville Sports Commission partnering with local athletic venues such as the Gator Bowmen Archery Range, Santa Fe College, Ironwood Golf Course, and the Auto-Plus Raceway to provide the best facilities for our athletes. All athletes who enter will be sorted into different 5-year age groups and can sign up for a maximum of 11 events. The registration deadline for each event is one week prior to the athletes first scheduled event.
