Tailgate Guys caters to game day fun

In 2007, two young men from Auburn, Alabama started kicking around an idea to provide tailgate services for football fans. Nine years later, the Tailgate Guys have spread across Southeast Conference cities and are now serving customers at the University of Florida and Texas A&M in addition to the original location in Auburn. The company is also set up in Big 12 and ACC schools, namely the University of Texas, TCU and Georgia Tech.

“Our mission with Tailgate Guys is to provide a superior service to the game day fan, the university and the communities in which we live and work,” the company website reports.

The company is entering its fourth year partnering with the University of Florida. All the sites administered by the Tailgate Guys are located just south of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on the Reitz Union Lawn.

The Tailgate Guys offer various plans for game day customers. Small packages are designed to serve 10 to 20 fans and include a tent, tables, signage and options for catering, beverages and television packages. Other packages include coolers and ice, plates, cutlery and cups and other amenities.

In the winter of 2014 the Tailgate Guys started a new operation geared toward year-round catering and setup for events. The Event Group was started to support tent party and event rental needs, according to the company.

“By applying the same principles and attention to detail that has made the Tailgate Guys a regional brand, we offer the same premier services in the event and rental industry,” the website reports.

The Event Group started offering its services in East Alabama, West Georgia and now has a location located in Gainesville that serves the North Central Florida market.
