The Digital Media Technology Department at Santa Fe College held its Spring Summer Showcase May 2 with a Gala Opening and awards ceremony.
Winners were also announced for the Advertising Federation (Adfed) of Gainesville’s 2103 scholarships. Students presented with the awards included Thea Nalls, Danielle Heslup, Baylee Adams, Julie Harris, Stephen Patterson, Anna Horton, Coral Boyd and Chris Wright.
The scholarship program was created in 1995 in memory of a dedicated member of Adfed, Sue Dixon Smith, and is designed to assist students who have shown promise in the advertising industry, as well as to foster leadership, service, determination, commitment and creativity.
Adfed of Gainesville has been around for more than 35 years and is a member of the American Advertising Federation 4th District Florida/Carribbean. The goal of the organization is to educate advertising professionals and students, monitor legislative issues and drive traffic to businesses to help build the area’s economy.
