Fire up the grills; Pollo Tropical, a Miami-based restaurant known for its signature flame-grilled chicken, is opening a location on Archer Road this May and plans to hire more than 120 employees.
The popular restaurant chain has partnered with FloridaWorks to recruit employees for its open positions from the Employ Florida Marketplace and other areas within the community.
In the past two months, Pollo Tropical has interviewed more than 200 candidates and filled more than 20 of its open positions, including general manager, assistant managers and kitchen staff.
“FloridaWorks is excited to partner with Pollo Tropical by providing space and resources for hiring events,” said Kim Tesch-Vaught, executive director of FloridaWorks, in a news release. “Employer partnerships like this allow FloridaWorks to facilitate face time between employers and job seekers; a crucial aspect of the employment process.”
The company is still looking for more than 50 people to fill the rest of its open positions – including cashiers, food expediters, line cooks and grill masters. FloridaWorks is hosting an open house at its offices, 4800 SW 13th St., on April 19 and 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help find potential fits for these positions.
