Patticakes opens new location

Downtown Gainesville has a new café. Patticakes opened its second location in the newly built café space on the northeast side of Bo Diddley Plaza.

Bo Diddley Plaza reopened in March after a year-long renovation. The café addition was part of an initiative to activate underutilized space in the plaza, increase the programming, safety and draw visitors into the plaza. Patticakes, owned by Jan Patterson, was selected through a public solicitation process conducted by the Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and approved by the CRA Board in December 2015.

Patticakes is known for their cupcakes and coffee, but they also offer other goods such as quiches, bagels and other breakfast items, ice cream, paninis and wraps, smoothies, teas and more.  Patticakes is also a welcome addition to downtown Gainesville.

Patticakes on the Plaza is open weekly Monday-Thursday from 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday hours extend to 10:30 p.m. for concert-goers at the plaza, and from 9 a.m.-10:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
