The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to Junior Achievement of Alachua County.
Through its global grants, the MDRT Foundation is committed to building stronger families and communities around the globe. This year, the MDRT Foundation will award nearly $1 million in MDRT member-endorsed grants to more than 100 charitable organizations worldwide. Thanks to Kirk Klein of Koss Olinger one of those grants is going to help local students in Alachua County understand some of the core principals of business.
During the MDRT Annual Meeting held in New Orleans, LA, the MDRT Foundation president, Roger Seim, MSFS, CLU, awarded the “Quality of Life Grant” to Junior Achievement of Alachua County board member, Kirk Klein, MDRT member and managing partner of Koss Olinger, on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.“The MDRT Foundation does so much around the world, we feel grateful to be selected to receive this grant. It will impact so many children in our community”, said Mr. Klein, who will present the grant to the organization at a special ceremony to be held at the next Junior Achievement Board of Directors meeting.
The grant award will provide 50 Alachua County middle school classrooms and over 1,000 students with “JA Financial Literacy Days”, one day programs that teach basic financial literacy skills and demonstrate the importance of staying in school and completing one’s education. The project is a partnership of JA of Alachua County, Alachua County schools, and area businesses.
“The Junior Achievement’s mission to empower young people to own their economic success is critical to the overall growth, development, and future of Alachua County,” said Dana Nemenyi, Junior Achievement of Alachua County Board Chair.
