Frequent Flyer feature: Daira Vargas, Info Tech Inc.

Each month, the Business Report spotlights a local traveler who frequents Gainesville Regional Airport.

Name: Daira Vargas

Job: Systems Analyst and Quality Support Tester for Info Tech, Inc. I’ve lived in Gainesville since 1997. I love to travel!

Favorite airport to fly into: St. Paul International Airport in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Wow, that place is huge!

Most interesting place you’ve been: Seoul, South Korea. Beautiful scenery, colors, and the food is excellent!

Worst travel experience: Occurred when flying from Miami to Germany with my high school French club. I am allergic to cigarette smoke, and although I was in the “nonsmoking” section, the row right behind me was the “smoking” section.

Top travel tip: Do not wear (or carry) anything with metal or anything that has sequins on it — unless you’d like to be delayed at the security checkpoint. I have a go-to jewelry set that passes through security without a problem.

Top five items in your carry-on: Travel toothbrush/toothpaste, mini cosmetics for touch-ups, pair of extra contact lens, eye drops and snacks

You’ve made it back to your hotel room after a long day of traveling. How do you relax? My favorite way to relax is to quickly unpack, take a shower, then order chinese food and eat while watching a good movie.
