City Launches ServeGNV.org

The City of Gainesville has launched a mobile-friendly, web-based platform called serveGNV to connect local nonprofits and other agencies in the area to local volunteers. Registration for the service is free.

With a few clicks of a mouse, users will be able to locate a cause they care about based on the interests they select in the software. The matching program will ultimately partner these civic-minded citizens with area non-profits looking for their specific interests, talents and contributions.

“Local volunteerism is the power behind long-lasting change, and by introducing a new, dynamic online platform to our community, we believe serveGNV could easily become a valuable tool to drive volunteer engagement,” said Gainesville City Manager Anthony Lyons.

Agencies in the area can post their volunteer opportunities, special events, and corporate engagement activities directly to the website in hopes of increasing the variety of ways for locals to get involved. There is no limit to the number of opportunities each agency has available to volunteers.

Agencies interested in registering and those interested in volunteering may visit www.serveGNV.org to find their match.
